Cary City Meet Details - Register by 7/3!

Hello Brookstone Families!

On Saturday, July 15th Cary Swim Club will be hosting the 40th annual Cary City Swim Meet. The Cary City meet is an invitational swim meet that has included more than 25 teams from the Tarheel Swimming Association in past years! The meet is totally optional. It is just a fun way to meet swimmers from other teams and compete on a larger scale compared to a dual meet. Each team is expected to provide a certain amount of volunteers (timers, kid pushers for clerk of course, etc), including one stroke and turn judge. If you would like to sign up for this meet, please be aware you might need to volunteer for a short shift during a session.

The Cary City meet is focused on having fun while swimming! Many teams have a theme for the meet and it is a really great atmosphere. This will be Brookstone’s 6th year at Cary City and past swimmers will tell you, every year is a blast.

Some information on this year’s meet:

The morning session (10 and Under) starts at 8:15 AM with warm-ups at 7:00 AM

The afternoon session (11 and Up) starts at 2:15 PM with warms-ups around 1:00 PM

All 6 and under swimmers will be required to swim a full 25 yards

All 6 and under are allowed to do up to 2 events, Freestyle and Backstroke and 2 relays. 6 and under swimmers are not allowed to swim breaststroke in this meet

All 7/8’s and up are allowed to do up to 3 events and 2 relays

Individual events cost $6 per event to enter. One relay team is $12, so $3 per swimmer, if a relay can be made

All events are the same as a Tuesday dual meet, Free, Back, Breast, Fly, Free and Medley Relay.

If anyone has interest in attending the Cary City meet, you must login to our Swimtopia website and declare your swimmer by July 3rd. I will connect with swimmers and parents about relays if there is an interest in participating.

Payment is due by July 5th through a second link on our website.

Looking forward to a fun Cary City meet!
